The roaches kept us up killing them all night, including one in the toilet, which I’d never seen before. This place is infested, and half the equipment is broken or only partly working. Don’t waste your time or money at Studio 6 Motel in the Monroe, LA area. I was very disappointed and irritated. My room cost $75 and up, and I’d save the money and find a better motel somewhere else. Also, be careful with a room marked nonrefundable if they don’t give you a copy of the receipt. Worst motel experience of my life, and I think this place needs to be shut down.

I returned to collect and clean the rest of my belongings before my scheduled Friday checkout on 3/21/25, and found that my garbage can, broom, mop, and bucket were gone. Some things were boxed, so I don’t know what else might be missing. They’d moved a bag of trash from my can into my clothes hamper, taken the can, and left the trash behind. My fiancé’s favorite glass cup had also been thrown away and shattered. They said I’d supposedly left my door open, which I hadn’t. Even if I had, how would that justify entering the room and taking things? I’d paid what I owed, and the room should have been off limits. If you can’t afford a broom, maybe you shouldn’t be in business. This place is the garbage can of motels around here. Be aware. This started when I rented an extra room for my mother-in-law and found out it had been double-booked, after two men went into it. Instead of accommodating the other party, they called the police and made them leave. One of the men had been staying in the room beside me for weeks for work, just as we were, and they suddenly made him change rooms for no reason. The owners wouldn’t speak to him and stayed in the back, leaving their employees to deal with it. While we were in the lobby with the police, they charged his card an extra $150. They later asked me to contact them about my experience, but blocked my number after I called to ask how taking people’s belongings could be acceptable. They ban or block people and won’t have an adult conversation about their shortcomings. Unblock my cell phone and let’s talk like adults. I’ve also contacted the BBB. There are too many shoddy reviews for them to keep going down this path.

For $80 a night, this room with two full beds wasn’t worth it. The air conditioner worked great, but there was no ice bucket, so they gave me a garbage bag for ice. I was in a smoking room, yet they said they don’t provide ashtrays. The shower setup was strange: shampooing meant standing spread-eagle against the wall. The toilet didn’t flush properly, and there were only three TV channels with no guide. When I picked up the dog’s food bowl, a German cockroach ran out. At $40 a night, it might’ve been okay, but definitely not for $80.

Such a weird experience. The room was disgusting and there wasn’t any hot water. You can’t talk to the front desk person normally because she’s locked in the office. I had to put my head into a “bank teller” drawer just to speak with her.

I felt unsafe, and I wouldn’t bring my kids or family here again. It’s the worst hotel I’ve stayed in: the rooms were filthy and smelled horrible, and the front desk was incredibly rude. Don’t expect much. I don’t usually write reviews like this, but people should know it isn’t worth your time or money. I’d rather sleep in my car.
