Ashley at the front desk made a great first impression. She was welcoming and had a wonderful personality. The room was clean and spacious, and the in-room hot tub was a nice extra. It's family friendly too, with a pool that's usually full of happy kids and stays open until midnight. There are several places to eat nearby. It's not technically a five-star hotel, and there were a few annoyances: the shampoo holder was broken, there was no coffee in the lobby, and the parking lot was dark at night. Still, it's a great place to stay.

I liked the room and the soft bed, and there were more amenities than I expected when I booked. The gym was a nice surprise, and the front desk ladies were kind, helpful, and courteous. There were ants in the room, though. Housekeeping has been the opposite. My room still hasn't been cleaned, and they've been rude to me already. Almost every housekeeper I pass looks like they want to murder me, though not all of them. Today two saw me in the hall and walked side by side, slowly, cutting me off so I couldn't get past. We made eye contact, so I know they saw me. It was really annoying when I was just trying to get back to my room after an extremely stressful morning. I know housekeeping happens behind the scenes, but it's still customer service. I don't want to be around people acting like that when I'm at a hotel to get away from things.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was okay, with both hot and cold options, nothing special. The pool area was really nice, with a hot tub too.

My family returns because of the location and pool. We come to this side of the state to see family, fish, and go to Cedar Point. We have two middle school kids, and stayed Christmas Eve through Saturday. That visit, a woman with pink hair who supposedly worked there gave us the worst customer service. She wore sweats and no name tag, and wouldn't tell me her name. My kids were excited to swim on Christmas Eve. They had put on their suits and were waiting by the pool, not in it, while I told them I'd join them in a couple of minutes. The pink-haired employee started yelling that they had to stay right beside me at all times, or she'd kick us out and keep the deposit. She waved her arms and hands while talking over me, so I never got a chance to respond. The pool bathroom stall lock was broken, and our room was just down the hall, so changing there wasn't an option. Who threatens to throw out a family on Christmas Eve? Another family with four boys swam over the next few days; their dad kept leaving, and nobody said anything, even though those kids were much younger than mine. There were ants in our room, and the pool area bathroom was broken. Later, one of my kids came down the hall to tell me someone was glaring at them and making her feel uncomfortable. I felt targeted. My husband also heard that employee talking about us to someone at the front desk. I raised it with Heather K, who said her employee hadn't been rude, as if I were imagining it. I didn't even know the employee's name because she hadn't told me. Heather said she wasn't wearing sweats, so apparently I should have taken a picture. She also said staff don't go into the pool bathrooms, so they hadn't known it was broken. It sounded like they weren't checking whether it needed cleaning either. She didn't care about the ants, and didn't want to hear about the employee discussing us with the front desk. There were maybe 20 rooms booked that night, since the parking lot was empty. I'd be happy to talk with someone from the hotel if they want to call. We were in room 110.

The room was clean and didn't smell bad. That was the one good part of my last visit. The hallways smelled musty, and the pool and hot tub were out of service. They wouldn't reduce my room price at all, and their offer of 50% off another visit was no use to me because I won't return. The front desk was rude when they called to say birthday parties weren't allowed and that no visitors beyond the four people staying in our room could come by, even briefly to celebrate my daughter's birthday. She bawled her eyes out, and we had to send several kids home. The staff's solution was to offer a banquet room for $250, calling it a discount from the usual $450. They later said I should have read the policies on the website, but I've searched it extensively and can't find anything about outside guests visiting for a short time. Breakfast was generic. We waited for food to be replenished, and they ran out of syrup and at least one kind of juice that I never saw restocked. This truck-stop-side place has sadly turned into a LOW QUALITY Inn & Suites over the years. I'm extremely disappointed.
