TownePlace Suites by Marriott Monroe

We’ve been here for six weeks this time, and it’s been comfortable the whole stay. I love the people here. Having a studio apartment with a little kitchen, dinette, and even a chair is great. I asked for a crock pot, and they didn’t have enough at first, so they added another for me.

We only needed a place to rest before driving in the morning, and the room did serve that purpose. We’d checked in very late after a medical test at the hospital, so we were tired and didn’t ask to move, even though the room smelled unpleasant, kind of like pee. I tried not to think about it. The front desk person also took quite a while to show up while we waited at the counter, until I called out “hello” loudly. We count on Marriott hotels to be clean and not smell, so this stay was disappointing.

It’s right by the highway, with a gas station and convenience store across a small grassy patch. The hotel was modern and clean, and the family-style staff were friendly. I liked the breakfast and lounge, and there are TVs everywhere. The pool was nice for playing and relaxing, and it’s child friendly.

There was a small booking mix-up on their side when we arrived, but they sorted it out easily. We were two couples and got rooms close to each other. The place was clean, family friendly, and had a good breakfast.
