Quality Inn & Suites Monroeville South

My husband and I only stay at this hotel. It's quiet enough to relax without hearing other guests, the rooms are always clean, and the beds are comfortable. The staff are very friendly, and the owner and his wife are wonderful people. Five stars all around from me!

It's a nice place right off the highway, and my room was roomy and clean. The bed was spotless and really comfortable, with fluffy pillows. The front desk woman came by three times before checkout to see if I was still there. That got annoying. They should be able to track who has come and gone without bothering guests.

We had to find another hotel around 9:30 or 10 that night. Our room was still unbearably hot after we returned from dinner at about 9:30, and the replacement she offered was worse, humid and smelling like wet dog. She said she'd just sprayed it, though I don't know what that was meant to imply. She told us every room had absorbed the heat because the AC had been off all day in 90-plus-degree weather, and she had no other cool room. She couldn't approve a refund, and there was no manager on site. We arrived July 7, 2025, between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. The room was extremely hot, so we turned the AC all the way up before leaving for dinner around 6:15. I couldn't find anyone to tell that it wasn't cooling. We went back the next afternoon, July 8, around 2 p.m., and there still wasn't a manager. They offered only a partial refund, which I refused. The rooms are nasty and stink. They later said they'd refund the full amount in 7-10 business days, even though the charge didn't take that long to appear.

The room was comfortable, clean, and the stay itself was good. At checkout, the staff were excellent and friendly, and there are convenience stores and lots of food nearby. Check-in, though, was lackluster because the woman was plainly unfriendly. I had a Do Not Disturb sign on the door, but housekeeping came in while I was asleep. Really irritating.
