Regency Inn

For a moderately priced hotel on a business trip, this was the best room I've had. Clean, comfortable, and nice-looking, with a great bed where I slept like a baby. I could've done without a mirror covering a wall.

The room was clean, and the young woman who greeted us was friendly and helpful. We were there for just one day. There wasn't a shower curtain in the bathroom, but I didn't complain and took a nice hot bath instead. The water pressure was strong and the water was hot.

I was there for less than 40 minutes, at a time when my dad was deteriorating in the hospital and I needed a safe place to grieve. I was so upset and disgusted that I got in my car and left to find somewhere else. I left my key card and a note asking for my money back, after ringing the bell and waiting for no one to come. Later, after waiting three days to reach manager Nick, I went back and rang the doorbell at the window. There's no lobby or welcoming entrance. They refused any refund, saying I hadn't complained enough and could have been moved to another room. No thanks, one room was enough. The room was awful: no towels, thick dust, filthy unvacuumed carpet with what looked like toenails and skin, and a used washcloth in the shower. There was a man's jacket and body wash in the room, a broken ice bucket, a ripped shower curtain, dirty counters, hair in the sheets, and a filthy tub. A three-inch cockroach crawled down the wall toward the pillow, and another crossed the carpet. The man there, named “Vicki,” did not care at all.

The roaches in my room are so bad they're coming out of the sink and tub drains, crawling on the ceiling, and I even found one in the bed. I've repeatedly told the man at the front desk, asked for a small discount or a different room, and asked to speak with the manager. Nothing has happened. This place should be closed until the health department clears the bugs. It's disgusting. Everywhere else is booked because it's a shut-down period, so I couldn't get another motel. I'd sleep in my car before staying at Regency Inn again.
