A Wave Inn

We left Saturday night after just one of the two nights we’d booked for Columbus Day weekend and the Montauk Fall Festival. The location was great, across from the beach and within walking distance of everything in town, and the room was clean and neat. But it had no central heat, just a space heater, and the memory foam mattress wasn’t comfortable. The walls were paper thin. We could hear the couple next door having sex, then every word, fart, cough, and eventually their loud snoring. It felt like they were right there with us, and we couldn’t sleep. We enjoyed Montauk and the festival the next day, but won’t book here again. The rooms are affordable, though they could use earplugs and Ambien.

A clean, reasonably priced spot in a great location for a quick beach getaway. I did notice a crack in the front door, and you can see inside if you look closely.

You can hear a lot from the rooms, including outside noise and people above you if you're on the first floor. There was a really loud family during our stay. The rooms also feel dated, with an old mattress and a small TV. Still, the pool is lovely and very well kept, and the cleaning crew came every day and did a thorough job, which helped with all the towels and sand. The location is perfect, about a five minute walk to the beach, restaurants, and grocery store. I’d stay again, but wish the rooms were more updated.

When I opened the door, a bunch of bedbugs scattered out. This is the kind of dump you’d only want if you planned to stay drunk or drugged. Waking up sober the next morning, I was glad to see bulldozers lined up. I just hope they were there to level the place.
