Hampton Inn Dumfries/Quantico

After a long, tiring drive, I checked in with manager Ebony, then realized I’d gone to the wrong room. I was exhausted and traveling with a restless 5 year old, and in my irritation I thought she’d given me the wrong key. I’m very sorry about that. Ebony stayed professional and calm while helping me get to the correct, comfortable room. Thanks to her and to the professional housekeeping staff for such caring service. The rooms are super clean and smell good, and the beds are super comfy. We hope to enjoy the pool.

We couldn’t use the big TV in our room because the cable kept freezing after a few seconds, showing a mosaic, or going black with sound. We reported it and were told the provider was at fault, so nothing could be done. It was inconvenient to spend the evening without sports, news, or anything else on TV, but I understand it was out of the hotel’s hands. Everything else made for a very pleasant one-night stop while we were traveling north. The room was spacious and clean, with plenty of hangers and towels. The microwave and mini-fridge worked, though the fridge had no freezer compartment, and the Wi-Fi was fine. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The gym was fine, but we didn’t use the pool, so I can’t comment on it. Breakfast starts at 6 AM and was excellent, with a very good selection: fruit, cereal, pancakes, eggs, very good bacon, potatoes, hard-boiled eggs, muffins, toast, oatmeal, and more. Everything was at the right temperature. The hotel is quite nice, and I definitely recommend it. We’ll be back.

The location is a little awkward, on a minor road behind a gas station and Waffle House, next to a local highway. Inside, it’s a typical Hampton Inn with an excellent breakfast. My room was well stocked and the floor was quiet. Check-in was fine, and the breakfast ladies were cordial.

Not many guests were around during our stay, so we had the pool and jacuzzi to ourselves. The room was spacious and clean, the staff were really nice, and breakfast had some good choices, much like at other Hampton Inns. We had a fantastic stay and highly recommend this hotel in Dumfries.
