Right in the middle of town, the location worked perfectly for me. The service was great, and everything was explained clearly. I had to hear it twice, though, because my sleep-deprived brain stopped paying attention after the word “bed.” They offered breakfast, but I was the only guest there and couldn’t bring myself to ask someone to cook just for me. The staff were friendly and accommodating. A great choice if you need some quiet time to relax.

Coffee, water, tea, and snacks were easy to get whenever I wanted them. I slept well, and the rooms were clean and really comfortable. The location, breakfast, inn, and staff were all top-notch. I’ll definitely be back!

Harley made check-in simple and showed us around the property. My mother and I came for a short mother-daughter trip and had a blast. We’re from Chattanooga, and the drive was beautiful and easy, with all those trees and mountains. Our room was super comfortable, and Mountain Goat Market, right next door, was our favorite place to eat. We spent the evening on the porch rocking chairs, listening for a while as another guest strummed his banjo. Now I’m trying to persuade the rest of my family to come up so I can visit again!

Christmas decorations were up everywhere, and after a long drive I felt welcomed into a rustic family home instead of an Inn. This was my first stay at Monteagle Inn, and I was really pleased. The room was comfortable and very clean. There are a few other places to stay when visiting Sewanee, but this is at the top of my list now.

We got away for the night while our daughter stayed over with a friend. I’d always wanted to try Monteagle Inn Bed & Breakfast and Retreat Center, so we booked at the last minute and were glad we did. We met the owner, who was very nice, and the staff were amazing. The whole place felt like a Hallmark movie set. They let us check in early, and checkout isn’t until 11. It’s also unusual to find a place that’ll let you book just one night. Drinks were available upstairs and downstairs at no extra charge, and breakfast was included. They’re pet-friendly too, and pets were even off leash, though that wasn’t a problem. High Point Restaurant, one of my favorite places to eat, is less than half a mile away. It’s Al Capone’s old house. They also have a conference center I’m considering for a retreat. Highly recommend staying here.
