Super 8 By Wyndham Monteagle Tn

We stayed because every other hotel nearby was out of our budget that night. The next day, our key stopped working, and the woman at the desk was as rude as the first one had been. When we brought up the rat or mouse droppings again, she acted like she didn't know about it, then recognized the situation as soon as we said the room number. She corrected us that it was room 112, so she clearly knew. She said only the first woman could help, but that person wouldn't be back until evening, when we were at the concert we'd traveled for. We never saw her again, and we never got a refund or compensation. The day before, our TV hadn't worked, and we found a whole layer of rodent droppings covering more than half the top dresser drawer. It was horrifying. The first woman at the desk was dismissive and rude. She said it had never happened before, didn't apologize or acknowledge how unacceptable it was, and gave a vague answer when we asked if we'd get any compensation for moving rooms. There was no apology or refund. I don't usually write reviews or complain easily, but this stay at the Super 8 by Wyndham in Monteagle, TN felt so unsafe and unsanitary that I had to warn people. The hotel felt unclean and poorly managed, and the service and accountability were nonexistent. This was the worst hotel experience I've had. It was a nightmare, and I don't think this property should operate under the Wyndham name.

The owners were nice, but this room badly needs remodeling. Cigarette burns covered the bed blanket, and the shower had been painted with latex house paint that was peeling badly. There was a big gap around the entry door, letting in light, noise, and cold air. I could hear and smell the neighbors partying in their bathroom as if they were in mine. When I lifted a ceiling tile, I saw bare 2x4 studs going straight through to their bathroom, with no insulation or sheetrock. No wonder it sounded like someone was in my room. I paid cash but never got an email receipt.

The rooms were clean, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I enjoyed staying here. Jai Bajrang Bali!

For the price, this older motel is more than adequate, and the location is great. The staff are friendly and helpful if anything comes up. I'm a truck driver, and it's a very good motel for me.
