The room was spacious, but the beds were uncomfortable. Housekeeping was the biggest problem: over our two-night, three-day stay, nobody serviced the room. They didn't make the bed or bring fresh towels, even after we asked. The reception and breakfast area felt extremely cramped, with the buffet tables and basic drink bar squeezed together. Breakfast was disappointing for the price. The hotel is overrated and poor value, and the experience didn't justify what we paid. I'm sharing this so future guests know.

The money was taken off my mom's card while we were driving to Monterey on the third day. She never paid at the front desk; she checked in once, and we went to her bank, US bank, after she was told cash payments weren't allowed. So why lie, and why didn't anyone tell her about the hold when she checked in? The manager, Murphy, even called it a discrepancy after looking at the bank statement. My mom has documents of all the transactions, so we're not worried. I know the truth. This all started when my mom checked her account and saw her card had been charged three times, almost $900 for three nights. It wasn't a suite, and this isn't the embassy. Now her account is overdrawn by more than $400. Be cautious dealing with these crooks. There was no deposit. Murphy said US bank put a hold on her account, but how does that explain a completed $499 transaction and a pending $479? They already took $136 of that. Even if we checked out a day early, three days had been paid for. We weren't asking for a prorated refund. She was asking about charges on her account from their employee, Amy. Murphy also admitted that even if Best Western was at fault, they didn't have the money. So where is it going? The way you talk to people is what you get back. Shame on manager Murphy for being unprofessional toward my mother and the bank teller. Smh.

We went to a wedding fair on Saturday, March 1, 2026, for my daughter, who's getting married this year. The location was the best for the beach, restaurants, and Laguna Seca golf course.

The place is clean and nice, but I won't stay here again. There are no AC units in any room. The nice lady downstairs told me Monterey weather is fairly cool and many places don't use AC. That's great for them, but I sleep at about 60 degrees, and an open window and one little oscillating fan weren't enough for me. Leaving the window open at night meant traffic right outside woke me up. Planes taking off overhead woke me almost every time, too. Then at 5:30 a.m., someone in the parking lot smoked Marijuana, and the smell filled our room within seconds. With no AC and no blankets, I had to keep the window open. Management and the OWNER, this isn't the first complaint about the problem. Please say here and on Google maps that there's no AC. People from around here might be used to it, but visitors who've never been here deserve to know ahead of time, especially when they're paying $200 a night. Portable AC units are an affordable option, and the Motel 6 across the street has AC units. Breakfast didn't have meat or eggs for protein, at least I don't think they serve those. There were just waffles and cereal, one hard-boiled egg left, and no coffee. The mattress was like lying in a bowl. If you want a firm mattress, don't stay here. My back is wrecked. I'm not trying to give you a bad rap. I leave reviews to help other people and businesses improve what they offer. If you care about your customers and your business, you need to fix this. Thank you.
