Best Western Park Crest Inn

For a weekend in Monterey, this was a good-priced room with the basics we needed for two people, and it was clean. The places we went were all a reasonable drive away, and the front desk staff were friendly. Our room was beside the “Employees Only” area, though, so we occasionally heard noises from next door during the night.

Our room was spacious, spotless, and updated, even though the outside of the property looks a bit dated. My wife, daughter, and I stayed two nights, and the beds were really comfortable. Everything worked, from the shower and toilet to the drawers, lights, outlets, fridge, and microwave. The heater warmed up the chilly room within minutes. The breakfast room is small, but the food was varied, well stocked, and clean. Staff were friendly when we arrived late and again at checkout. The location is central, easy to reach, and has plenty of parking. A comfortable, convenient stay for a good price.

Breakfast had eggs, tots, sausage or bacon, waffles, cereal, fruit, and pastries, and the price was among the more affordable options. It’s a quiet little place with free, safe parking, vending and ice machines, and a partial ocean view from upstairs. Our room was very clean and had a fridge and microwave. We loved our stay and will definitely return.

The breakfast was decent, with waffles, cereal, bread, and fruit, and the coffee was fine. The rest of the stay was rough. The rooms felt sterile, the walls were paper thin, and light came in around the curtains and beneath both doors. The bathroom fan was missing, and its window didn't seal or lock. The connecting door was especially unsettling. It had only an unlocked deadbolt between our room and a stranger's. The hot tub was coming apart, with tiles missing and repairs that looked like they were failing.
