Casa Verde Inn

The bathroom was completely unusable, with brown and black grime all over the tub and hair everywhere. The sink was chipped and disgusting, so we never used it. The rest of the room was awful too: stained sheets and pillows, damp carpet, peeling wallpaper, and broken, dirty chairs. The mini fridge and microwave were broken, and the room door had to be slammed hard to shut. We’d booked a king bed but got two queens instead, and the online pictures were completely misleading, probably from 1996. This was our one-night stay for our three-year anniversary at Casa Verde Inn, and it was by far the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Don’t stay here unless you really don’t give a sh*t.

Be careful with this place. The first room smelled strongly of cigarettes, so we asked to switch, and they were nice about that. The replacement was very bare and had the same seedy feel. One pillowcase was stained, the shower was disgusting, and there was a glove on the shower head for some reason. The manager wasn’t there in the morning when we checked out. It was cheap, but not without reason.

Good value and I liked the place. It’s right off the freeway, with a few places to eat nearby. There’s no lock on the washroom door. We saw someone in the next room with a cat, a dog, and a couple staying there. I love animals, but I’m mentioning it in case others aren’t comfortable with rooms where animals have stayed.

The price and location earn the two stars, and the bed was clean and comfortable. The heater, TV, phone, and WiFi all worked fine, and the attendant was nice and personable. The soaps were standard. But the towels had black marks, and our two-bed unit had just one towel and one rag. I couldn’t reach staff around 8am to get replacements. Food from the previous guest was still in the microwave, and it didn’t work.
