We’ve been for brunch a few times and always have a great time. The house is gorgeous and beautifully decorated, and everyone on staff is so friendly and welcoming. We visited on Valentine’s Day and loved the food, especially the scones and quiche. Would recommend!

The Borland House has a real historic charm, and you can tell how much care has gone into the building. The manager showed us the rooms that were available to view, and I hope to come back and stay. It feels like stepping back in time, with lovely decor and wonderful food. There were plenty of options for people with allergies and restrictions. I’d especially recommend the skillet frittata and stuffed french toast. The gift shop has handmade items from the owner, the manager, and another vendor who makes tallow creams and room sprays. I got the cedar scent.

The bathroom was lovely, and I don’t have complaints about it apart from the soap and shampoo, which were so watery that I couldn’t get a lather. The pillows badly need replacing, and a couple extra would help, especially for people with back issues. A TV big enough to see from across the very generous bedroom would be nice, along with some updated comforts. At this price I’d also expect a couple bottles of water. This is a very specific sort of stay. If going back in time in almost every way sounds good to you, you might love it. It feels authentically 1780, with almost nothing updated besides the light switches. The manager let us in early, and we thanked her several times. We saw the gentleman once, briefly, when he pointed out the coffee maker, which kind of works. The closed-up old house had a musty smell. Opening it up would help, as would a fan or air unit guests can control. I’ve never left a negative review and don’t mean this as one, just a heads up for future guests. It’s a very different experience.

The room stayed warm despite the winter cold outside, and breakfast the next morning was amazing. Brianna was available and very helpful while we were there. The inn was cozy, and the service was terrific. I’d recommend it to anyone passing through who wants a friendly home away from home for the night.

The host was friendly and accommodating, and the room was perfect. The coffee service needs some work, though. Coffee should come with a spoon, cream, and sugar.
