I travel for work and booked ahead. On Dec 11 at 2:07 pm, I called to reserve a room for Dec 13-15. The guy took my name, which I spelled out four times, but it was entered completely wrong. I gave him the dates and card information, and he said I was booked and would email a confirmation number. That never came. Instead, I got a cancellation email dated the 11th, even though I'd asked for the 13th-15th. When I arrived, they didn't have the room type I'd booked, so they put me in room 212 upstairs, though I'd asked for downstairs. I cut my trip short and checked out at 7:30 am on Dec 14. I had paid a $40 cash deposit, and “Bobby” said he'd check the room before refunding it. Then he stood at the top of the stairs and claimed big towels were missing. I had showered at check-in and check-out, using two bath towels, two hand towels, and two washcloths. I went up to show him where they all were: the floor mat and a hand towel by the tub, two washcloths and another hand towel on the sink, one big towel bundled in the sheets he'd stripped from the bed, and the other on the floor in front of the bed. I told him there were all the towels and to give me my money. He got mad when I opened my bag in the lobby in front of him. It had two black outfits, a colorful pair of pants, and black undergarments. I asked where he saw anything white in my bag. He also asked why I was leaving when I'd said I was checking out that day instead of Monday, and I told him I needed my deposit back. He got even angrier, so I asked for the manager. I still haven't spoken with the manager. I felt I was already dealing with him: unfriendly, stereotyped, rude, and disrespectful. That's my review.

We got there after check-in time, but the room still wasn't ready, so we waited over an hour. The first room they assigned had doors that shocked you every time you touched them. There were little water bugs in the bathroom, too. I've never been charged a deposit for a room before, and $40 on top of $220 for two days feels outrageous. I'd rather pay that for a nicer, cleaner hotel.

We checked several ways for hidden fees and found nothing disclosed on any website. We also called ahead to say we'd be checking in later than expected. The room was fully paid for, but when my friend went to check in, the front desk attendant tried to hustle him for some extra payment before he'd be allowed to check in. It wasn't a deposit. The first room had a beeping fire alarm, and the second smelled like the HVAC was about to spark. The initial price was cheap, but this was my worst hotel experience in a long time.

The staff were friendly, and the place was nice and clean. Just be aware that the room directly above the entrance lets you hear the door opening and closing all night. It wasn't especially loud, but it was audible.

The room was blazing hot when we arrived because they turn off the air conditioner after each guest. The toilet didn't flush properly, the carpet was filthy, and there was no phone or smoke detector in our room. Breakfast was a joke: a frozen Jimmy Dean sandwich and a rotten banana. Worst hotel I've stayed in, and I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.
