Sunrise Extended Stay Hotel

My ride broke down in Montgomery, so I ended up here as a last resort. After years on the road, this was the worst of the cheesy hotels I’ve stayed in. The staff were hostile, and the room smelled like cat litter. Only book if you have no other choice, and be ready to pay a cash security deposit.

The woman working there was lovely, but the man was rude, nasty, and unpleasant. We got caught in the rain and he wouldn’t give us extra towels. I tried to stay friendly, but he wouldn’t reply or even make eye contact. I was told the cash deposit would be $30 if I paid in person and waived if I paid online. After paying online, I was told everyone has to pay a $40 cash deposit. I won’t stay here again.

I couldn’t make it through the night and left early. The room was filthy, from the floors and bathroom to bedding that felt dirty, and the whole place looked run-down and ugly inside. There was a horrible smell, some mix of mold, smoke, and who knows what else. This was easily my worst hotel stay. I expect a full refund, and I’d tell people to stay somewhere else.

There was mold and there were bugs. I took pictures and showed Sunny at the desk, but she didn’t care. She was more concerned about the cigarette smell than the moldy stink. I have asthma and can’t breathe, so I’ll have to see a doctor tomorrow. I’m contacting the health department tomorrow morning.
