Best Western Montgomery I-85 North Hotel

We got a good price, and the staff were pleasant at both check-in and checkout. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the water pressure was good. There was a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker. Breakfast had a good selection, including eggs and sausage, waffles, bread, pastries, and cereal.

There were roaches in my room, and the second-floor floors were dirty. The shower was dirty too, with hair all over it, and the water ran very slowly. Hot water was fine, but the cold water pressure was poor. The tub floor sank in, and the hair dryer didn't work. At the entrance, the first door opened, but I had to ask someone to let me through the second, which seemed odd. This was the worst Best Western I've experienced.

There was plenty of parking, though the lot had potholes and trailers parked there. Restaurants and corner stores were easy to reach on foot. The staff were lovely, and the water pressure was great with plenty of hot water. The TV kept freezing, which I think was due to the connection in Montgomery, since connections were bad everywhere I went while there. I didn't get breakfast, but liked how the hotel and bedroom looked. There was dust on the ceiling, and I think the mattress and pillows had just been cleaned because they were a little wet. It was annoying at first, but I appreciated the effort. At other hotels I've reviewed recently, old guests' smells stayed on the bedding. There was no mattress cover, but if it had just been cleaned, perhaps a cover would cause mold. I didn't sit in the room chair because it was stained.

The pool was out of season, unfortunately, but otherwise it was a great stay and we'd return. Parking was easy, right by the front entrance. The staff treated us very well, and the manager, Dan Patel, was exceptionally nice. Coffee, tea, and water were available all day and night. Breakfast was excellent, with hot items, fruit, yogurt, and waffles.
