Suburban Studios Montgomery East I-85

The whole hotel smells of cigarette and marijuana smoke, even though it’s supposed to be non-smoking. There’s lots of noise and foot traffic, and the staff are very unprofessional with no control over the property. Absolutely horrible. Don’t stay here under any circumstances.

I paid and checked out right away because the windows wouldn’t lock. A resident chased me down the stairs and recommended giving my dog acid, and the hotel refused to refund me. There were people fighting and pleading over money, and renovations were underway with tools and buckets left in random places. The place gave me the impression that a lot of drug related and criminal activity happens there. It felt extremely dangerous.

The weak wifi really annoys me, though I like everything else. The service and rooms are good. There are some roaches, but it isn’t infested. I do recommend getting roach spray.

For a short stay, the location works well. My room is clean and I haven’t seen any bugs. The check in lady was welcoming and very helpful, I think her name is Mrs. Kaitlyn. One downside is that the new management keeps locking all the side stairwells and won’t install key cards. They said it’s for guest safety, but I think replacing the keycards makes more sense than having guests prop doors open and continually locking the side doors on them. Bring walking shoes, because I think I’ve lost at least six pound from all the walking. Otherwise, it’s been a decent stay so far.
