Homewood Suites by Hilton Montgomery

The suite was clean and quiet, with good space for eating or working. Our king suite reservation had been made in advance, but the first room we were given hadn't been cleaned and the bed was unmade. They reassigned us right away to a room across the hall, which was fine. The website showed a ceiling fan, but our suite didn't have one. There's no restaurant on site, so they point guests to the one across from the hotel at the Hilton Garden Inn. We had a poor experience there: the TV didn't work, the card system wasn't working and they didn't tell us until payment, and the food was poor. The free breakfast at Homewood Suites was good.

Check-in was quick, pleasant, and friendly. The room needed a better clean: food crumbs were in the fridge, food was stuck in the A/C vent, and there were hair pins by the phone that I wasn't touching. The bathroom tub is old and has a dirty bottom. They should have replaced it when they remodeled.

We only stayed one night. The room seemed nice at first, but up close it needed a proper cleaning. The bathroom vent above the tub was dusty and filthy, and the dishes hadn't been washed. It felt like a quick patch-up remodel or a room cleaned only “enough.” Service was okay.

The breakfast was better than most, with good food. I enjoyed the scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, and gravy. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and Ms Natasha was such a pleasure to meet. Elmer and I really appreciate all her help, thank you so much. If you're visiting Montgomery and want somewhere nice that's a little out of the way, this works well. You can drive to what you need, but walking from the hotel isn't really an option.
