Hampton Inn & Suites Montgomery-Downtown

Ray gave me top tier service at check-in, you rock! I love the new room decor, and it’s great to see the property coming back to life with renovations. The downtown location is prime, within walking distance of everything. Management, please add pictures of the renovated rooms. We’ll be back!

The staff were friendly, but the room hadn’t been properly cleaned or maintained. I had to wipe something off the faucet with a towel, and there was a bobby pin in the entryway outside the bathroom, so the floor clearly hadn’t been vacuumed. I could hear every bit of outside noise and music from the fifth floor, and breakfast was lacking. There’s no parking, and valet costs $30. The Mariott across the street is $24 for 24 hours and much better. The hotel is old and run down. There are signs about renovations, but it needs a complete overhaul. I paid too much for this experience, and I won’t stay here again, even though I’m in the area several times a year.

This is an old, badly run down hotel. I spent a week there with signs everywhere about construction and remodeling, but no workers and no work being done. The website hadn’t mentioned the construction or paid parking, so be prepared when you arrive. There was mold in the rooms, bathrooms, and hallways, along with dirty carpets and dirty rooms. Housekeeping didn’t come daily, even when requested. The HVAC system was out, so don’t expect that to work either.

The only thing I liked was the downtown location, though there wasn’t much open on a Tuesday evening. The area is known to be unsafe for walking after dark, even with a heavy police presence. The room was gross and missing basic things like a hairdryer, iron, and lotion. There were four empty shampoo and shower gel bottles left on the shower shelves, plus a broken shower head and mold on the ceiling. The woman who checked us in barely said a word. I’ve stayed at hundreds of Hilton properties, and this may be the worst one I’ve experienced. Just avoid it.
