Best Western Lake Cumberland Inn

There were eight roaches in our room, and the furniture was both stained and uncomfortable. The whole place felt like it hadn't been properly cleaned in ages. When I told the staff, they didn't seem to care at all. This was a disgusting stay, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Jay Patel was kind, professional, and genuinely helpful as manager. He told us he also owns four nearby gas stations, a car wash, and a tobacco shop, so he stays busy. Even so, he's working with his employees to improve the hotel. Every place has things it could do better.

The rooms were cold, though reasonably clean. Breakfast was a letdown: no sausage or bacon, just hard biscuits and cold gravy. I wouldn't plan on eating here.

The desk clerk was very nice and accommodating, but we had to switch rooms twice because both of the first rooms had bed bugs. In the morning, the elevator was out, and we carried our luggage down three flights. They couldn't say when repairs would be done, so we decided to find another place. We come up here every year and usually stay in Somerset. We chose charming Monticello this time, but we won't stay here again.
