Breakfast was awesome, with waffles and lots of yummy stuff. We got a really good deal on Priceline, and the front desk was super helpful about assigning our family of five a room with a couch. The room was clean and comfortable. We could hear some airplanes, but they provided earplugs and we didn’t use them because the noise didn’t bother us.

The rooms, breakfast, staff, and cleanliness were all great. Noise was the worst part. We were right by Grand at a stoplight, and the cars were loud. The planes were loud too, but the cars flooring it at the light all night were the bigger problem. I bought a small $17 fan to make noise, and it worked so much better.

I’ve stayed here on and off for about a year without trouble until this visit. I arrived around midnight Thursday morning, showered after waking up, and stepped out with clean feet that left black marks on the floor. I reported how dirty it was at the desk. The staff member said someone would clean it; the maid came, got on her hands and knees, and cleaned only the bathroom floor. She was very kind. I took pictures afterward, including of the wood flooring, which was still disgusting. I ended up cleaning the floors myself and am uploading pictures. That evening I went to the office for a spoon and fork for dinner since I’d been working from my hotel room. I was told I wasn’t supposed to be there and no one should have checked me in. I was immediately offended and confused. On Mother’s Day weekend, I’d arrived with my three kids to four pillows on one bed and three on the other. We brought four blankets of our own. I called customer service and was told to speak with the desk in the morning. At 7 a.m. I went to ask politely for some resolution. I’d stayed here many times, including with my children, and never stolen anything. My only mistake was extending my stay too long: I asked for late checkout and stayed a little longer because I overslept. The manager was disrespectful, and I felt she was making me out to be someone I’m not. I’ve always left my rooms tidy, even stripping the beds. She refused compensation because I booked through a third party. I called that booking company, and they said they’d reach out about a refund, though I doubt I’ll get one. The manager also accused me of punching the office door. I had food in one hand, the police on the line, and pushed the door with my foot. I would never get aggressive with anything; I was raised better. She said she’d call the police and have me trespassed for reacting to what I felt were lies, so yes, I yelled at her. The maid who cleaned my room on Mother’s Day was upset because mine was the last room she had to clean. I believe the false accusation came from her, the skinny white woman with dark hair. The other maids have been nice, whether my room was clean or not. I’m not that kind of person. I reported the manager to the third-party booking service and Choice Hotels, and I’ll be contacting BBB about what I see as harassment.

The room was spacious and very clean, though the coffee maker didn’t work. I needed a handicap room, and it was at the far end of the property. It was too far to walk to breakfast, and driving over there was a hassle.

At 3 p.m., not the middle of the night, the front desk woman started barking what felt like commands before even saying hello. She was horribly rude. She asked for a $150 cash deposit on top of the room charges, which meant going to an ATM and then hoping I’d get it back. Since it wouldn’t go on my card, there’d be no money trail. I wasn’t sure whether she’d give a receipt, and I left. Other hotels I stayed at, including the one I ended up choosing, were very polite. If that’s how they treat you before you’ve paid, I wondered what it would be like afterward. Don’t bother putting this place on your itinerary. You don’t need the aggravation.
