The thing that will bring us back is Scott and Kathy. Scott's an eccentric hippie with stories and jokes that had us laughing until we cried, and Cathy is quiet and sweet, with cooking that could rival Gordon freakin Ramsey. His rooms of historically significant memorabilia are hard to believe until you see them. We stayed in the gorgeous, period accurate Victorian room, and the historic house and ghost tour were amazing too. You can come just for dinner, add a tour, or stay overnight. My wife and I had wanted to visit for months. We finally made it and only wish we'd gone sooner. A 10 out of 10 for the whole experience. Make a reservation, don't wait like we did!

Every year, the homemade Thanksgiving meal meets my expectations, and the owners are so kind and personable that they make you feel at home. My mom has rented the cottage out back for the past few years. It's beautiful and full of history you can't find elsewhere. My mom and I come to the Daffodale for Thanksgiving, but this place would be great with kids, a partner, or on your own. Each room has its own design. It's a really cool hidden spot in Monticello, and I'd recommend renting a room here. ❤️

The owners treated my five year old daughter like family during our overnight stay. The house and owners were wonderful, and the food was amazing. Service was out of this world. If I could, I'd give them even more stars!

Cathy, Scott, and Salli from housekeeping were so kind to my daughter, spouse, and me. My little one has a lot of energy, and they kept up with her so well. Cathy cooks delicious food and has a cookbook, while Scott's a collector and a fun person to talk with. We had some great conversations. We found The Daffodil House when our car started making odd sounds during a tough cross-country move back to Florida. We needed somewhere nearby to sleep while we figured things out, and Cathy and Scott welcomed us warmly. The house is gorgeous, with treasures and adventures from around the world, and every room has a different theme. We got the Victorian room, my favorite, with two queen beds and a large tiled shower. It felt like they already knew me. It was a little dusty, which bothered my allergies, but I managed and slept comfortably. The beds were soft, which helped with my bad back, and the bedding and towels were clean and fresh. Everything smelled lovely. They have cats and welcome pets. Breakfast is included, and dinner costs a little extra. They also host things like Santa meet and greets, ghost tours, weddings, and tea time. The experience was phenomenal, and I'm grateful for their help. We'll be back sometime! ✨️🙌🥰❤️

We spent every minute of our stay enjoying this warm, friendly place. It's clean, but definitely doesn't feel like a sterile hotel. Out front there's a huge wraparound porch with rocking chairs, lovely for sitting outside at night. Our Safari room had a great bed, a strong shower, and plenty of towels. Coffee and water were set up outside, and there were beautiful mirrors and lots of interesting things to look at in the room. The hosts make you comfortable and are so welcoming. Kathy greets you with a smile each morning and cooks a lovely breakfast. Don't miss her prime rib night. Scott's full of stories and laughs, and he's a lovable character who goes the extra mile.
