The owners were friendly and accommodating, and the resort looks out over a beautiful lake. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable, with the best resort beds I’ve ever slept in. We also loved having a Keurig and delicious coffee. It may sound like a small thing, but that attention to detail stood out. The kids could jump in the lake and fish from the pier, and we had room for our group to gather and grill on the big deck. At night we had a bonfire and watched the Indiana Beach fireworks. The park is about a five minute walk, which made it easy to go back and forth with little kids. My family has stayed at plenty of places, and Shafer Lakeside Resort is one of the best. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The amusement park is an easy walk down the street, and the deck has direct access to the water. On our summer visit, we loved swimming in the beautiful, clean lake. We came back for a second trip this year, and autumn by the lake, with the old oak trees, made for a perfect relaxing evening. Both times we found the room clean and comfortable. It was newly updated and had everything we needed, including a fridge, coffee maker, and microwave. We also liked being able to use the grill on the deck. We loved our stays and would highly recommend the resort.

We had a really enjoyable stay in clean, spacious rooms with nice amenities. Everything in the room looked new, as if the hotel had recently been renovated. The resort is in a nice spot within walking distance of the amusement park, and the deck overlooking the lake is beautiful. Highly recommend.
