I stayed here for two weeks for work, and the owner-manager was really friendly and helped me several times. The room was clean and good value, with a comfortable bed, a decent microwave, and a mini fridge with a freezer. Laundry at the motel was affordable too. I’d stay again if work brings me back, or maybe come for a vacation to check out Bear Lake and the nearby hiking trails.

The room cost over $100 a night plus taxes, and I wouldn’t say it was worth it. The smell hit us as soon as we walked in, musty and foul enough to make us gag. We opened the door and windows to air it out, but that left the room freezing. Once we shut them and turned up the heat, the odor became unbearable again. The TV barely worked and had only 2-3 channels. The beds were firm and had a huge dip in the middle. In the non-smoking room, the carpet was stained and burned, the bathroom had mildew and mold all over, and the tub was stained. The sink and faucet leaked, the hot water knob wouldn’t turn on, and corrosion and calcium buildup on the faucet put us off using it. The fridge hadn’t been cleaned out after the previous guests. We were exhausted from traveling and working hard all week, so we tried to get some sleep and decided to check rooms before renting anywhere from now on. We got at least some shut-eye, but weren’t impressed. It’s hard to understand having broken, moldy, run-down rooms unless the people running them are lazy or unclean. The place also didn’t seem professionally run: there was garbage and clutter on the walkways, and the “office” looked like a badly messy storage room. Meltwater poured from broken gutters across the doorways and sidewalks, where it froze into serious slip and trip hazards. I stepped over a frozen mound on the way to and from our room, slipped, fell on jagged ice, and busted my knee open. I hope they fix it before someone with disabilities has an even worse fall and rightfully sues over the hazard, which is also against commercial building codes, as are issues inside and outside these rooms and the hotel. The online pictures might be of another hotel, or they may be many years out of date. There’s no continental breakfast included, though several options are nearby. Also, despite the cautions from other reviewers, if you rent here, take note that you won’t get a refund or cooperation with anything you need. They wouldn’t let us use a bathroom even though we were renting a room, and sent us to stores where we’d have to buy something to use theirs.

We liked the quiet feel of this motel and found the owners very accommodating. It was nice to hear the owner recognize us on the phone from our last visit and assure us our room would be ready. We were glad to get a king bed, and the room was spacious and very clean. The price seemed fair. We discovered Rest Assured on our last trip to Montpelier, Idaho. Thanks!

The staff really care about making you feel at home, and this motel is a great stay for a great price. There are two fabulous Bullfrog Spa hot tubs out back beneath a cozy-feeling deck. It’s about 35 minutes from Bear Lake North Beach on the Idaho side, and this has become our family’s go-to whenever we decide to visit Bear Lake.

Derek was so understanding when a family emergency came up, and the customer service was awesome. We love Bear Lake, and this hotel is under 30 minutes from North Beach. It’s a fun place to spend the day, then unwind in the hotel hot tubs in the evening. I’d definitely recommend staying here if you’re in the area.
