At checkout, after I left a review, the manager emailed me an offer of $33.23 back. I found that insulting after our safety had been put at risk. I also contacted the hotel and filed a complaint with the BBB, which couldn’t get in touch with the property either. We stayed October 10 through October 12, me, my mother, who is disabled, and two small children. Almost all the handicap spots were occupied by boats parked by other guests. I told the front desk, and all I got was, “I know it is frustrating.” Our room floor was so dirty my mother’s flip-flops stuck to it. We got in around 10 PM, went to bed, and had to get up early for a soccer tournament. At 2 AM, a man came into our room and left a few moments later. We were awake because of the baby, and it scared my daughter. The next morning my one-year-old son’s feet were black within minutes of walking on the floor. After we got back from the fields at 8 PM, I asked whether housekeeping had cleaned our room. The desk clerk said they hadn’t cleaned any rooms on the second floor that day because they were short-staffed. When I explained about my son’s feet, she offered to let me mop the room myself. I also told her about the man coming in and the boats in the handicap spaces, then asked to move to a clean room on the first floor. She said they were overbooked and we had to stay put. I tried to find another place, but everything was booked because of the tournament, so we had no choice but to stay. There was mold all over the air conditioner too.

There was toilet paper on the floor in one room, and the other had no TV remote. Luckily, the office had a spare, which I went to pick up. I’d booked two rooms together, but they were in separate buildings. One room was ready, thankfully, while we waited hours past check-in for the other because they said they’d overbooked. Nobody apologized, and the staff weren’t friendly. I asked the manager for a discount since I’d booked months earlier and we didn’t get the full time we were meant to have. She was snarky and sarcastic and wouldn’t offer any compensation. It was a bad experience, and we won’t stay there again.

I left right away when I found a cockroach while rinsing my feet and getting my slippers. My feet had turned black after walking around the filthy room for just a few hours. The next day, I called to get my money back and was told they thought I’d stayed one night, so they refunded only four nights. I called for the next three days to get the remaining night refunded, but couldn’t reach the manager, so I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

The breakfast buffet was a joke, and the floors were visibly dirty with sticky patches. My socks turned black after walking from the bed to the bathroom, so keep your shoes on. The exterior walls were so thin that I couldn’t sleep. I chose the hotel for its location.
