Microtel Inn & Suites By Wyndham Moorhead Fargo Area

The breakfast was good and hot, but the room needed a lot of attention. When I arrived, only the bathroom light worked. The clerk came up and got the others working except the one between the beds, and said she couldn't access any bulbs. Then the TV wouldn't work until she brought another remote, and even after that it was missing channels. She said she couldn't get into the room with the controls either. The bed and pillows were rock hard, there weren't any hangers in the closet, and when I realized I'd forgotten my toothbrush, the front desk was out. The room had potential, but it wasn't well maintained.

We were pleasantly surprised. The staff were really friendly, and the place was clean, quiet, and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but it had what we needed for a nice stay in the Moorhead/Fargo area.

I drove from the Twin Cities to Moorhead twice this week and stayed here both times. The rooms were very clean and quiet, even on Friday night. Staff were good, and the breakfast buffet was very good, with different options on the two days I was there.

The beds were at least comfortable, but this was easily the worst Microtel I've stayed at. At check-in, the woman had an attitude, like I'd done something wrong just by asking to check in. Breakfast was probably the worst I've had at a hotel, with everything either out of order or frozen. The bathroom walls had a lot of damage. Giant chunks were missing around the shower, and several spots were scraped down to the drywall. I took photos in case they try to charge me for it. I would've understood if they said they were remodeling, but nobody mentioned any work at check-in. I've stayed at places being updated before, and they usually give you a heads-up. Also, the reservation was under a family member's name with a rewards account, so it won't show up under mine.
