Candlewood Suites Pittston by IHG

The hotel was clean and quiet, with easy access to the main roads. There are several fast food places nearby, along with a Denny's, and Walmart is across the street. Weis markets also delivers to the hotel for free. It's a good setup for a longer stay, especially with the free laundry machines and fitness center. Most of the check-in staff were super nice, and the cleaning crew were lovely too.

We found plenty of convenient places to eat and shop nearby, including a Wendy's next door and Walmart, Taco Bell, and a pizza place across the street. The highway noise is noticeable, though that's not unusual for this location. Housekeeping only comes every 7 days, but whenever we asked the front desk for extra towels or toilet paper, they were helpful. This was our first Candlewood Suites stay. We spent five nights there over Thanksgiving while visiting family, and were very pleased. The room had enough space for the two of us, and the kitchen had a full-size fridge, dishwasher, stovetop, and enough dishes and silverware for two. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was nice, and the Dove shampoo was a nice touch. I did miss having a cover over the entrance when we pulled up to check in. It was raining as we got our luggage onto the cart, so we got a little wet. There wasn't a morning continental breakfast, but they offered a reasonably priced $5 set with a muffin, oatmeal, granola bar, and water, along with other things for the room. My main complaint was the weak shower pressure, although the water was hot. I'd definitely stay here again.

The room felt more like a small apartment than a cramped hotel room, which made the extra comfort really nice. I also liked having the Candlewood Cupboard for quick snacks and the 'Lending Locker' for things I'd forgotten to pack. I was there for three nights and honestly didn't want to leave. The staff were the best part. Everyone was friendly and went out of their way to make sure I had what I needed. If you're visiting Pittston, I'd stay here for that comfortable feel and the local hospitality.

I've stayed exclusively with IHG and travel A LOT, so I notice the details. I couldn't find a thing to criticize here. The appliances, furnishings, fixtures, decor, amenities, service, cleanliness, and comfort were all top level. For a budget brand hotel, the quality was unexpectedly good. Everything looked new, well cared for, or both. They did a fantastic job with this place.
