Courtyard by Marriott Scranton Montage Mountain

We were exhausted after a grueling snowy drive from ME, and Janie helped get us settled for the night. The staff were very helpful, especially Chary, who found a crib, brought it to us, and set it up. My sister, my two-year-old grandson, and I stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Montage on January 17, 2026. It was a wonderful experience.

I've stayed at plenty of hotels and BnB's, but I'll pick the Courtyard every time. Staff treat you extremely well and are more than accommodating. I've only had good conversations with them, and Greg and Amanda in particular are amazing. If an issue comes up, they're on it.

The room's layout was strange, with mirrors around the bed on several sides. Light from the window reflected onto the bed at night even with most of the blinds closed. The A/C was hard to adjust, and the room turned into an oven overnight. Check-in was a problem too, and the stay wasn't worth the money. The front desk staff member was on a personal phone call and barely spoke with me. She only pointed to the elevator and didn't explain the amenities. My key card didn't work, so I had to go back and ask for new keys.

For the price, I expected better from a Marriott. The room and amenities weren't good, and I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel because it felt like a waste of money. The bed was very hard, the bathroom sink wouldn't drain, and the couch felt like sitting on plywood. The balcony door barely opened, and the screen in the screen door was ripped. At the bar, the bartender said they didn't have the things listed on the menu. We ordered a Jack and Coke, but there was no Coke, just one flat Diet Coke. They used flat Shasta in the non-diet drink. The bartender said Marriott carries Pepsi products, not Coke products.
