Hatchet Resort

For four nights we booked the standard room in a log cabin. The bathroom was nice, the beds were comfortable, and gasoline was a great price at the time. But there was no microwave or refrigerator, which matters when food is about a 1.5 hour round trip away in Jackson WY. The on-site restaurant and diner were closed to resort guests for 3 of our 4 nights. Staff just shrugged and said we could drive to Jackson for dinner. We cut our stay short by one night and weren’t reimbursed.

We spotted a mama bear and her two cubs just 30 min after arriving, which was something! The standard room was clean and just right for our group of 4, with nice beds. There’s no AC, but June temperatures were still cool, and the area wasn’t busy. It’s convenient for visits to the Tetons and Yellowstone, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the property, a gas station nearby, and a park for kids. I’d stay again.

We arrived late, and they’d left our key in an envelope outside. It’s close to the national park, with clean shared bathrooms and a nice cabin feel.

Hotels.com listed the reservation as a standard queen, while the other option said room with a shared bath, so I assumed ours had its own bathroom. It didn’t. When I needed to cancel, the resort still charged a fee, even though I was cancelling a month ahead.
