Holiday Inn Morgantown University Area

I come here often because a family member is hospitalized, and sometimes get coffee and sit in the lobby. There are two or three men who linger on the furniture by the back entrance throughout the day. They don’t seem to be guests. Their rancid odor is noticeable as soon as you step off to the right of the elevator, and on first impression they could be mistaken for homeless people. I spoke with a kind, understanding young woman at the front desk, though I can’t remember her name. She said management had dealt with it and there was nothing more she could do. I told her she was doing a good day's work and to keep it up. I hope management gets its act together. I shouldn’t feel like I’m paying to stay in a homeless shelter rather than a hotel. I’m sure other guests have seen these men, but it seems I’m the first to complain. I’ve also seen a review about PDA at the front desk, and noticed it a couple of times in the morning near the front entrance, so that apparently hasn’t been resolved either. This property has potential, but it needs the right authority in place to ensure guests’ safety and cleanliness.

I’ve been staying here for work for years, and don’t see that changing. The location is even better than the hotel itself, which is very well managed. The front desk attendants are great, and both my staff and I find the people here more than accommodating. Highly recommend.

We’re WVU graduates and football season ticket holders, and we’ve found our go-to place to stay. This is the cleanest, nicest Holiday Inn I’ve stayed in. Everything looks brand new, though the front desk says this location has been here a little over ten years. The employees are all helpful and friendly.

My reservation was canceled by the time I arrived to check in, after a horrible time trying to make it in the first place. Luckily, they had a room available. After dinner, I came back and the key cards didn’t work, so I waited over 10 minutes in line to get new ones. Only two of the front desk employees were courteous during the whole stay. The rest were unprofessional and not helpful at all.
