Red Carpet Inn & Suites Morgantown

The pictures on their website are totally unlike the place itself. There were no headboards, no phone in the room, and no wheelchair ramp even though there were signs for wheelchair accessibility. The room smelled terrible, there was no soap, and the floors crackled underfoot. I asked the manager to come look at some stuff beneath the sheet on the mattress because we thought it might be bugs, but it wasn't. We had to leave a $25 deposit in case we trashed the room, though we did get it back at checkout. 😁 I don't suggest staying here. I was waiting for Norman Bates to come busting through the door.

We booked online, then found an extra cleaning fee when we arrived that the site hadn't mentioned. The room was just okay, with a basic shower curtain that didn't reach all the way down. The tile floor got very slippery when wet, and the TV remote didn't work. We won't be back.

The owner was nice, but when I asked for the WiFi password, he asked why we wanted it. The room smelled of smoke, the mini fridge was off and had mold inside, the sheets had yellow stains, and the pillows were nasty. There was used soap left in the shower and cobwebs in the corners. It was very outdated, and the crowd staying there was pretty rough.

A cheap motel or inn can still be clean and welcoming. This was one of the filthiest affordable motels I've stayed in, and I thought I'd seen it all. You have to ask for towels and toilet paper because they aren't provided, and every part of every room was filthy. This is no place for kids, with all walks of life staying there. Just don't stay here, it's disgusting. As I was getting ready to get out of "Dodge," the love birds next door decided to get it on and make all sorts of noises. Just great.
