Bay View Inn

I had a horrible experience. I’d prepaid for two nights and tried to check in on 1/22, but the night manager refused to let me in. He wouldn’t give me a refund and yelled and cursed at me for waking him with the night bell. I’d asked to check in at 11pm but never heard back from the hotel. If check-in at 11pm or later wasn’t possible, why not reply or reject my booking? They still charged me for both nights. Traffic delayed me by an hour after I’d already driven for 5 hours, so I arrived exhausted and was met with rudeness and no hospitality. I had to scramble at the last minute to find another hotel across the street. Bay View took my money and provided mo service, and I had to pay for somewhere else. Do not stay here!

Compared with the many local motels at a similar price, this one is better in a lot of ways. Lovely rooms, clean, and great people. Taking off half a point for the very limited cable service, but who watches TV anyway?

Room 104 was very clean, and the bed was really comfortable. The bathroom’s been remodeled, and the room has great lighting, a table with two chairs, and a coffee machine. The location is perfect. I could hear the sea lions barking from the parking lot. For the price, this place can’t be beat.

I got there early, but they were able to get my room ready quickly. It was clean and comfortable, with an ocean view. Other reviewers said the shutter slats wouldn’t stay open, but I opened the whole section instead, and it folded to the sides for a clear view. The windows open, too. There’s a nice little sun deck next to the office. Parking can be a bit tight, but once you’re parked, everything is within walking distance. The people running the place are friendly and accommodating.
