Holiday Inn Dallas-Richardson by IHG

The staff were nice, but the place was disgusting. We had two rooms, and both were equally awful: the toilet seats had deep gashes, the insides of the toilets were deeply scratched, and the toilets wouldn't flush. Breakfast was horrible too. We booked eight nights and couldn't wait to leave after the first. Stay away.

We were there for 10 days and had to move between four rooms because of the problems. The first was filthy; another had no hot water, a broken showerhead, no bathroom fan, and a gap about 1 and 1/2 inches wide under the door to the hallway. A staff member once entered without knocking or announcing herself to bring towels we hadn't asked for. All the rooms were too dark, with inadequate lighting. The free breakfast was disgusting, with the same items every day and leftovers put out again and again. We couldn't move to another hotel. The manager said he'd compensate us on the bill, but at checkout we were charged full price. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else.

I slept really well here. The beds were plush and so comfortable. There are indoor and outdoor pools, and a nice gym. You can get a cold plunge in the morning, though the two pools don't connect even if they look like they do. They also have all kinds of event spaces, and there was a party while I was there. I'd absolutely stay again.

The rooms were clean, and I liked how well lit the property was at night. Staff across the front desk, restaurant, maintenance, and housekeeping were welcoming and accommodating. Some reviews mention musty smells or humidity in the rooms, and I think it matters that the building may be older. I had a pleasant stay.
