Inn At Morro Bay

We had such a lovely Valentine’s Day weekend at Inn at Morro Bay. The eucalyptus trees made the property smell amazing, and the whole stay felt relaxing. There are several pretty hiking trails by the water nearby, just right for a romantic getaway. Our room was cozy, with a porch door that let in a refreshing breeze. We arrived late Friday, but the staff were still friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping and front desk were both kind and welcoming, and we felt looked after the whole time. We’re grateful for the stay and can’t wait to come back. This is going to be our regular spot in Morro Bay.

The location was excellent, and the room furnishings were very nice. But the bathroom was tiny, about the size of a broom closet, and the water pressure was inexcusable. The price made that a real disappointment. The thin walls also meant sleep was easily interrupted. If you get quiet neighbors and can put up with the bathroom, maybe you’ll have a better stay than we did.

For reference, I had a King room with Garden view. The mildew smell was unbearable, and there was mold in the bathroom. I slept with the slider wide open and they brought me a fan, but I still had to pull a sweatshirt over my head to try to filter the awful odor. The condition was shocking for the price, and I’m honestly surprised these rooms meet code. I wish I’d read Yelp reviews and checked the photos before booking. You can also scroll down through Google reviews to see room pictures. I’d recommend the restaurant for dinner with a view and kind staff. I don’t understand how the place has a 4-star rating here when Yelp says 2.8.

The little trails by the hotel and the views are really nice to explore. The staff are always sweet and professional, and the restaurant food smells and tastes really good. This last time I had insects in the bathroom, but I’d still come back despite the bug issue.
