Comfort Inn & Suites Morton - Peoria

The check-in clerk was very nice, and the bed was comfortable, but we won’t stay here again or recommend it. The room was spacious but dirty and worn. The sheet was inside out, so I couldn’t tell if it was clean. The bathroom floor was dirty, and the carpet didn’t look recently vacuumed. By 8:30, breakfast was mostly gone, with only a few eggs left, and there were no forks or coffee. The breakfast staff were cold and unfriendly, with no greeting or smile.

I wouldn’t recommend this run-down hotel. The room key kept failing, so we needed replacements almost every time, and it also didn’t work on the security doors. Most of those doors were propped open with rocks, which didn’t feel secure. Housekeeping changed the linens and towels daily, but I never saw a vacuum on the cart, and they didn’t replenish the toilet paper, so I had to find more myself. Even the key-card holder looked reused, dirty, and bent up.

We’d stayed in nicer places for less money. The room was dated and poorly cleaned, and missing caulk around the bathtub let water run all over the bathroom. We also couldn’t get the room we’d reserved more than a month ahead. Waiting an obnoxiously long time for someone to return to the front desk was unacceptable, and at checkout nobody was there to try to make things right.

The room was dusty, though the beds were reasonably comfortable. Breakfast was the real disappointment. I got there at 8:35 and the gravy for biscuits and gravy was gone. When I told the front desk staff, he said breakfast closed at 9. The eggs were extra cold, like they’d just come from the fridge. Breakfast was served in an old restaurant beside the hotel with no airflow, and it was so hot. I went back to the same desk guy because I’d been looking forward to a good meal and breakfast had been ruined. He apologized and said it wouldn’t happen again, which was great, but I still didn’t get breakfast.
