Quality Inn Moultrie

After checking in the day after our booking, the hotel had acknowledged us as guests, so the initial no-show designation was confusing. We had reserved two rooms at Quality Inn Moultrie through Expedia for March 19-22, 2026. We left and paid ourselves for two replacement rooms at Hampton Inn after finding exposed wiring in an open junction box right outside our door, mold and water damage on the bathroom ceiling, a badly corroded and unsanitary bathtub drain, and a strong smoke smell in rooms designated non-smoking. We documented these conditions with photographs. The hotel manager knew about the problems but denied our refund request. Expedia also refused a refund despite the photos. Since the hotel accepted our check-in and occupancy, we dispute that it can rely on a no-show cancellation policy. We are pursuing the matter through formal legal channels.

The rooms are nice, and breakfast was alright, with waffles and bagels. But the pool is basic and looks a little dingy, and the grill could use some fixing. The owner parks right by the door, which meant we had to park in the parking lot to check in. The pool closes before 10 p.m. and doesn't open until noon. I wanted a morning swim, but found out I couldn't. Still, it was an okay stay.

We had to stay here for a month after our house burned down. Once we left, the owner and manager charged us $950 for a broken lamp, a missing clock, and smoking in the rooms. We don't smoke. The lamp was already broken when we arrived, and we never had an alarm clock, but we told the manager on the first day and were told not to worry. Since our insurance paid for the rooms, it felt like they made up charges they'd already been told about just to get more money. There’s also a lot of prostitution here that management seems to overlook. The pool stays dirty, and the sheets are washed only once a week, no matter how many people have slept in the beds during that time. A very horrible experience with horrible people. Find somewhere else to stay.

After driving 5 1/2 hours, my sister and I went into the hotel and noticed a terrible smell, but decided to let it go. We then learned there was no elevator. In our room, the comforter had Cheeto stains, the smell was even worse, and the pillows were yellow against the white bedding, with makeup and other stains. Then ants started crawling on my sister, so we left after about 10 minutes. Manager Nicole refused to refund us and offered only to move us to another room. We didn’t want to stay in a hotel with bugs. We contacted booking.com to complain and ask about a refund, but the property manager refused, saying, “It was only a couple of sugar ants,” and confirmed she had seen them on the bed. I don’t care what kind of ants they were. Who would stay in a hotel they paid for when it has bugs? My coworker was supposed to stay there too, but called to cancel after hearing about my experience. Nicole wouldn’t let him cancel either, then yelled at him for discussing my room and the ants, saying they were “just sugar ants.” I’m so disappointed that I can’t get my money back for a room I spent only 10 minutes in. It was absolutely disgusting. Do not stay here.
