Breakfast is about the only thing I can point to as a plus. Otherwise, the room and hall smelled strongly of past guests and cigarettes, even though we were assigned to the non-smoking area. The room felt like someone had just rushed to make the bed before we arrived. There was hair on it, stains on the curtains, towels, shower curtain and carpet, sauce on the remote, and a phone that wasn’t plugged in. The two lamps couldn’t be used because there were no outlets. The bedding had cigarette burns, and it seemed like housekeeping had only replaced it and put out fresh towels. The floor was so dirty I’d keep shoes or socks on, and a used washcloth was still hanging from the shower curtain rod. You get what you pay for, I guess: a seedy hotel on the outskirts of Toledo. It deserves the two-star rating it has on Google.

The front desk woman was lovely, but I couldn’t get past the disgusting, cigarette-smelling room and stained beds. My ground-floor room also had a glass door straight outside with only a simple latch. No thanks, I’d rather sleep in my car.

The connected door between our room and the next one didn’t lock, so whoever was staying there could literally walk into ours. The hotel is run down, though the neighborhood seemed okay and it’s right off I-75. I’d only stay if there were no other rooms available, and even then I’m not sure it’s worth it.

The hallways were dirty, with cigarette burns on the walls and floors, and the outside looked run down too. Inside, there were carpet burns, old valances stapled over the previous ones, and bedside lights plugged into a surge protector hidden in the headboard. They also got my room type reservation wrong, then tried to charge extra at check-in for the type I’d originally booked. I stayed only because I’d booked online and didn’t want to pay a cancellation fee. I’d give zero stars if I could, and I will not be back.
