The grounds were beautifully kept, and check-in and checkout were quick. Still, we’ll try a hotel in Lancaster next time. The pool was cloudy, with things floating in it and lying on the bottom, and there was a mouse bait trap on the hallway floor near an outside door. The sign saying they don’t rent to people who live within 25 miles didn’t explain the past problems behind that rule, which felt unwelcoming. Breakfast booths had seat covers that kept slipping off. At first glance the hotel looks immaculate, but our room, 411, told a different story: black mold in the shower corner, yellow grime under the bottom shelf and along the outside lower edge of the door, a dusty bathroom fan, and a sink counter that looked like it had been sat on, with the sides pulled away. The room also smelled strongly of disinfectant. We chose it because of the online rating and the limited options in Mt Joy, and I wish I’d read the reviews about similar problems first.

Sheryl was a big help with restaurant suggestions, and the hotel was handy for activities at Spooky Nook. The room was cleaned very well, the beds were comfortable, and there was lots of good breakfast food, including eggs, sausage, assorted bread and sweet rolls, fruit, and cereal. We were there at the start of winter storm Fern, and the staff helped get me to the airport. Thanks to everyone.

For our 4th Annual Fresh Fest, Holiday Inn did a wonderful job hosting our group. They were friendly, kept the hotel clean, and listened to what we needed. They were one of the three hotels we partnered with for the event. Eric Corneilson was responsive, professional, and accommodating.

The beds had been remade with used, filthy sheets and pillows covered in body odor and hair. Absolutely disgusting. I’ve stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Mount Joy PA for the past year, but they let me down. I’m done staying there.

We stayed three nights and had a good experience overall. The room was clean, the beds and pillows were comfortable, the shower had great water pressure, breakfast was good enough, and the location was convenient. The walls are thin, though, and we often heard the neighbors’ doors slamming. On the second day, housekeeping made the beds and brought fresh towels but left all the food trash in the room. We returned at the end of the day to find it still there, even though they took the tip we’d left. That was frustrating. I’d stay again, despite that.
