Plantation Oaks Inn

The room was quiet enough that I didn't need my usual earplugs, and the bed was comfortable with just the right temperature. The property has a lovely, peaceful backyard overlooking the tide creek. My wife and I walked to the end of the dock one evening to watch the sunset. Steve greeted us when we arrived with a smile and a good sense of humor. Breakfast was satisfying and delicious, with homemade biscuits, muffins, and coffee cake. On our last morning we had amazing sour cream and chive scrambled eggs with steak. The inn is just outside Charleston. Getting to the historic district took about 30 minutes in rush hour and around 17 minutes at other times, and the drive to Isle of Palms beach was about the same. I'd highly recommend Plantation Oaks Inn to anyone visiting Charleston.

We felt at home right away thanks to the cheerful, genuine smile that greeted us. The owners and staff were so personable and helpful, and they seemed to have thought of every detail to make a vacation go smoothly. The house was spotless and beautifully decorated. The food felt like eating in Grandma's kitchen, and it was an experience all on its own. We also loved relaxing in the backyard hammock, on the porches, and by the dock. My husband and I will definitely come back.

Freshly baked cookies are waiting to welcome you, so don't miss them. Steve is friendly, a wonderful host, and incredibly hospitable. We're only a few hours into our stay and already loving it. This tucked-away place has old-world charm and is a real winner, especially if you're used to corporate travel and want something different from a typical hotel. The reviews online had set my expectations, and the place has fully lived up to them.

We'd love to return someday. This was the best bed and breakfast we've ever stayed at, with a luxurious and very private room, a dream of a king-size four-poster bed, and scrumptious breakfasts. It's also very close to all the historical sites. Thanks, Steve and Phyllis and staff!
