Wyndham Garden Charleston Mount Pleasant

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, from the front desk through to the restaurant. The property was clean and well looked after, with a slightly upscale feel for the price. But the rooms need a refresh. The furniture and other amenities are showing wear. I’m glad I stayed, though I doubt I’d return before the upgrades are done.

Mount Pleasant was a great choice for our road trip. It felt beautiful, slower, and less crowded than Charleston, yet Charleston was no more than a 10-minute drive away. Sullivan’s Island was also about 10 minutes away, and you should visit. I wasn’t sure whether to stay in Mt. Pleasant or Charleston, but I’m glad we chose here. I was impressed with Hilton properties on our trip, too. The hotel was clean and updated, and the beds were so comfortable I told my husband I’d stay another week just for the mattress. The rooms were quiet and peaceful. We had a reservation mix-up, and the room we booked didn’t work for us. The woman at the desk quickly sorted it out and even upgraded us, though it was our mistake. That’s Southern hospitality. I can’t wait to return to the Charleston area and stay here again.

The bathroom could use more light, and its exhaust vent didn’t work. Otherwise, the hotel was very clean, in a safe area, and quiet at night. The two queen beds we reserved were very comfortable. Our room also had a small fridge, microwave, and a thermostat that worked. They served a full buffet breakfast and a menu dinner. We’ll stay here again next time we’re in Charleston, and I highly recommend it.

Mount Pleasant is lovely, like a city tucked into the woods, and the hotel sits in a beautiful spot. Check-in was smooth thanks to Mark. The room was beautiful and clean, and the bed was seriously comfortable. The $15 breakfast buffet was simple. There weren’t pork alternatives, though you could get an omelette and a couple of other ready-made items with it. I didn’t ask whether there were other protein options. The gym and pool are both pretty small. It’s an easy walk to a plaza with a Michael’s, Walmart, a huge liquor store, banks, and a few other things. Isle of Palms is 10 minutes away.
