There aren’t places to eat on site, though you can drive a short way to plenty of options. The main draw is having a simple base for seeing the nice spots around Mount Shasta. The room was basic and fairly clean, with a coffee maker and simple toiletries. When the weather cooperates, the patio outside is nice for a cup of coffee or a drink. It’s an average, no-frills inn in a lovely setting.

The motel did a lot right, and after 11 p.m. it was quiet. The room was clean and comfortable, but I wouldn’t stay without earplugs. A very loud train came through around 11 at night and again at 7 on Sunday morning. After that, there was noise outside, probably from people checking out and staff cleaning. The walls are paper thin, so sleeping in isn’t really an option.

For one of the least expensive rooms around, everything was really good. It’s probably the best super-budget motel I’ve stayed in in Shasta. The room was generally clean and everything worked. I also liked the Hindi feel of the front desk decor, and the clerk was genuinely kind and welcoming.

The owners or managers were kind and accommodating, and we slept well and enjoyed our day. The room was older and could use some updates, but it was clean. The exterior is also well kept, and it felt like a safe, decent place to stay.

The room had water all over the floor when we opened the door, so we couldn’t stay there. There was no clerk at check-in, and we used a code the hotel had emailed to unlock the room. I called the number on the office door to ask for another room, but nobody answered. Emails and calls to the other hotel numbers went unanswered too. When I called the next day about a refund, they refused and said they’d checked the room and found no water. I was glad I’d taken a video, but still haven’t gotten a refund and don’t think I will. There was also other water damage on the ceiling. Horrible service.
