Alpine Lodge

Mount Shasta was amazing, but I wish we’d stayed somewhere else. The location was the only good thing here. The beds were awful and the pillows were flat as pancakes. We had to go to weed to buy new pillows because the owner had just one spare, and it was just as bad. My back is killing me, lol.

We had a weekend getaway with some friends and I’d definitely stay here again. The rooms were cute, clean, and smoke-free, with nice decorations and plenty of natural light. Outside the second floor there’s a little sitting area. The bathroom was clean and the shower had hot water. One room’s A/C cooled the whole place; the other had a wall heater that we didn’t need in early summer. Across the street is the cute coffee shop Seven Suns, which we recommend. Downtown was a few minutes’ walk, and Mount Shasta mountain was about a half-hour drive. The locals were extremely nice too.

We were able to leave our trailer there, which made exploring so much easier, and the place is close to everything. The outdoor lounge area was just right for sitting, visiting, and watching the sky. This family-run business made us feel very welcome and looked after, and everything was very clean. Thank you, it was fabulously wonderful.

We left and were told a refund wasn’t possible. The carpet was wet and squishy, the adjoining room’s door didn’t feel secure, and there was trash and old appliances in the parking lot. We could clearly hear conversations about domestic disputes in the next rooms. The sheets were stained and torn, and the mattress made me miss the bed from my basic training days.
