Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mount Vernon by IHG

The indoor pool was warm, and the laundry room has one washer and one dryer. It costs $2 a load, quarters only. The bathroom floor was crumbling and could use some TLC, but otherwise our room was clean and comfortable. The front desk guy who checked us in was friendly and helpful, though I didn't catch his name. Ren was a pleasure to talk with and watch at work that morning. I've never seen hotel hospitality like his, Disney World level. He made sure everyone had what they needed, kept the place clean, and greeted people with such a warm personality. Give him a raise or promotion. He's amazing!

The hotel suited our small business well and was comfortable. The rooms were very clean, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The young man who checked us in last night was friendly and patient, so getting settled was quick and easy. At breakfast, the staff member working there kept everything clean and stocked while going out of his way to help guests. We had a great experience. I'd rate it 10 out of 10, recommend it, and definitely stay again. #MightyManMovers

The pool was a highlight, nice salt water and not too deep. Breakfast was standard hotel fare, but the guy running it was really helpful about restocking and clearing trash. Our room was clean, and the front desk woman was friendly and informative. The shower corners had mold and could use a thorough cleaning. The AC was frustrating: it started at 72, and even after we set it to 68 it stayed around 71. It also wasn’t blowing consistently, so changing the temperature didn’t seem to do much.

The breakfast attendant was easily the best part of the stay, really nice, kept everything stocked and the area clean. The problem was this constant whistling from some strange air pressure issue. It went on day and night, like a child screaming, and seemed to start when someone opened a first-floor door. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels, and that wind-tunnel noise made this one extremely irritating.
