Quality Inn Mount Vernon

The room looked and smelled clean, and the location was perfect for us over Memorial Day weekend. It was good value, and I would stay again, but I'd skip breakfast next time. They offer continental items plus a self-serve hot food area. The hot food wasn't even lukewarm: I took a bite of a sausage link and biscuit with gravy, regretted it, and got sick about three to four hours later. For a hot breakfast, go across the street to the IHOP or somewhere else.

The manager was pleasant and understanding when I told him the next morning I needed to change hotels. The pool was out of order, and the highway was so loud I barely slept. Every flush made the toilet scream like something out of a horror movie for two minutes.

For the price, it was a good value. The place was clean and comfortable, with only minor cosmetic issues. The bathroom mirror was a little too large to plug in the provided hair dryer. It's conveniently located near downtown Mt. Vernon.

The area felt secure, the staff were kind, and getting to the fairgrounds where I had an event was fairly convenient. My room was clean, accessible, and quiet, even though it was only a few doors from the office. It also didn't smell of stale smoke. Very good value for the money, and I'd definitely stay again.
