Christine was a big help when we moved from the hotel to our RV, and Jane was sweet too. The maintenance folks were friendly. My husband and I spent a month in the clean, nice hotel, then another month in our RV at the park. Kevin and Ruth are great owners, always friendly and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for better accommodations, and we’re planning to return to the RV park while working in New Mexico. Check them out if you get the chance!

We left before our planned December 2025 checkout because of one employee, and several of my husband’s coworkers left for the same reason. If you have kids or dogs, I wouldn’t recommend staying here. She made our time a nightmare, even though everyone else at the park was sweet and helpful. The owner, his wife, Jane, and the maintenance staff were all wonderful and willing to help with just about anything. Without that employee, this would have been a five-star review. My husband arrived in December 2024, and the rest of us came in January. When I went to pick up a package, the employee complained that his truck was too loud and that he wasn’t allowed to drive past her camper in the morning. But he’d been riding with a coworker since he arrived. When I explained that, she changed her story and said he’d driven past late at night, revving his truck while she was in bed. It was 5 p.m., just after he got home, and he hadn’t revved it, just pressed the gas on an old truck. She also objected when the kids played on a small gravel pile right in front of our site. I’d asked the owner where I could walk the dogs off leash. He said it was fine as long as they were off the property, so I walked them beside the state-owned road, usually about a mile, three or four times a day. For three months there were no issues. The dogs stayed off the RV property, came when called, and didn’t bother anyone. Then one day, as I was walking them, the employee came down the road from one driveway toward the farthest one. I cut the walk short to avoid her, but she pulled over in the road and first accused me of not picking up after them. The owner had said I didn’t have to if they were off the property. When I told her that, she got an attitude and switched to saying they couldn’t be off leash. She yelled at me from inside her car. I said the owner had given permission, and she shouted, “THE OWNER???????” then yelled, “WE HAVE RULES AND YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THEM” before speeding off. It was rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful, and she turned telling me off into a public spectacle. I checked with the owner again, and he confirmed I could keep doing what I’d been doing. He said he’d speak with her, so I left it there. After that, she stopped telling me when packages arrived at the office and texted my husband at work instead. Later, she told one of his coworkers and the coworker’s son, who also stayed in the RV park, how much she disliked us and that they shouldn’t let my husband use their things because she didn’t like us. That was rude and unprofessional too. The last straw was her standing by her camper and yelling at my husband because the kids were back on the gravel mound. She seemed to make up rules as she went and enforce them only against certain people. Dogs going to the bathroom beside a road were a problem, but people dumping whole boxes of cat litter in the park were apparently fine.

When we first visited in May 2024, we came to be with family during an unexpected emergency. Christine quickly found a perfect site for our 40-foot motorhome, with its four slide-outs, and our Jeep Gladiator. The park was clean, quiet, and well placed for getting into town. There’s a train track nearby, but no crossings, so we didn’t hear whistles at night. Christine and the owners did a lot to make our stay work, and we said we’d be back. We returned in November 2024, this time for a motel room. Christine and Jane greeted us with the same warm, accommodating welcome. Brenda kept our room exceptionally clean, and it had everything we needed, including a small refrigerator that was residential-sized. Since a storm looked likely, we picked up extra food at the local store to keep in it. Like much of that part of New Mexico, we got caught in blizzard conditions for part of a day, but stayed warm and cozy in the room. We had everything we needed, and the office was just a phone call or short walk away. Kevin and Ruth Turner were as kind as ever and willing to do what they could for us. Turner Inn and RV Park is a modest motel and RV park in a rural spot, very close to the Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument and an easy drive from Albuquerque NM. It worked perfectly for seeing history while attending the balloon festival. I’ll always be grateful for our time at Turner Inn & RV Park.

I rented an RVer and headed down to see the Mustang stadium, hoping I’d spot the great Victor Torres, who “won so many games here.” I looked high and low, but came home without his autograph. Some beach somewhere, you know.
