Best Western Mulberry Hotel

I could hear everything in the hall through the paper-thin walls. The floor boards in my room weren't properly glued to the substrate either, I could get on my knees and lift them out of place. There was an outside door right near my room, which would've been great, except it wouldn't shut or lock properly when opened, so I couldn't use it.

We checked in around 11pm after Sun N Fun, and the hotel and rooms were very clean. The woman at the front desk was nice and gave us two toothbrushes and toothpaste since we'd forgotten ours, lol. Breakfast was good, and the area was clean. I didn't use the weight room, but it looked clean and had enough equipment. There's a laundry room too, which I didn't use, though it looked nice.

We drove 12 hours to Florida for a family funeral and are here for the weekend with our two children under 3. Everyone else has been friendly, but the woman cleaning the breakfast area has made us feel very unwelcome. She kept making snide remarks, including saying my 3 years old daughter shouldn't be running around when she'd only done a twirl to show us how a princess spins and wasn't bothering anyone. She also said in front of everyone that she wasn't anyone's maid and people needed to clean up after themselves. Then she warned my daughter not to knock over someone's coffee, even though she was nowhere near it. She complained about everything and was rude when someone told her there was no yogurt left. She even complained about her job in front of people the whole time. She really shouldn't be in customer service.

There was an odd smell throughout, almost like a rebranded Super 8. The breakfast person was super nice, but at the desk they gave us the middle finger when we asked for checkout one hour late, even though we were literally the only guests in the whole building. The weight machine cables were broken too. It's conveniently near the phosphorus mine, and the pollution made for a stunning sunrise.
