Hyatt Place Munster

The bar is a standout, and it seems like a great spot for the local community to gather too. The golf simulator is so cool! Hyatt Place Munster feels like a great addition to Munster and is definitely worth recommending. From arrival, the welcome sets you up for a clean, modern, comfortable stay. The rooms are spacious and feel fresh and thoughtfully put together.

I appreciated the noon checkout since I was in town for a swim meet, and it made the morning much less stressful. The hotel is in a convenient location near several good restaurants. The lobby is big and open, and my spacious room was clean, in great condition, and nicely maintained. The walk-in shower was a nice touch, and the room looked appealing. The breakfast area was clean and the utensils looked brand new, though the choices felt limited. There was no pancake or waffle machine, which would've been nice. The quiet-hours signs by the elevators were clear. Still, at about 11:30 p.m. one night, a child was running and jumping in the room above us. I called the front desk and was told another guest had already reported it. The receptionist said she'd called the room once and would now knock and speak with them directly. The noise stopped completely about ten minutes later. It was disruptive, but the staff dealt with it promptly and professionally. Sound insulation could be better, since we could hear noise from upstairs and the hallway. The hotel offers good value and I'd consider returning, especially for a swim meet or short trip. The noise insulation was an issue, but the staff responded quickly and appropriately.

The location made tournament mornings much easier, especially with the volleyball venue close by. The staff were friendly and helpful from check-in through checkout, which made the trip less stressful. Everything was spotless, my biggest concern, the rooms smelled fresh, and the beds were actually comfortable. I usually hate staying in hotels and expected uncomfortable beds, questionable cleanliness, and to count down to checkout. This place surprised me in the best way. If you dread hotels too, this is the exception. Clean, convenient, and welcoming. I'd absolutely stay again, and that says a lot.

The room had an amazing view of the Pepsi distribution center, at least. The shower door wouldn't stay shut, and they couldn't even refill the soap. The in-room fridge froze everything, and breakfast was probably the worst I've ever eaten. They've got a lot of work to do.
