Love Hotels Murdo by OYO on Interstate 90

The clean-smelling fresh sheets and amazing shower were just what I needed after a stressful day. The gentleman at the desk greeted me with a smile and got me checked in fast. Thanks for a great stay, I’ll be back soon.

The guy at the desk was alright, but we were offered granola bars for the full breakfast they advertised. Before we got to our room, two sketchy black guys who were broken down and staying at the hotel asked me for help. I couldn’t do much because I didn’t have what they needed. After they saw my wife and me go into our room, one of them came over to my truck bed and looked through my stuff while my dogs were going off. That felt sketchy. The room wasn’t great either. We couldn’t open any windows, there was mold in the AC/heater window shaker, and the mattress was on the ground with just a sheet, no bed frame. Live spiders had nests in almost every corner. No disrespect, but this doesn’t feel healthy to stay in. Be ready for the road the next morning.

The manager gave us a really warm welcome. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, and there were no odd smells. AC kept it nice and cool. It also had a wall-mounted TV, small fridge, and microwave. A great place to spend the night while out adventuring.

Date of visit: July 21, 2023 Motel name: Dakota Lodge/Love Hotels The young couple running this adequate little Murdo motel were polite and courteous. It has a vintage feel and could be really cute with a bit more effort. Our room was clean, as were both queen beds, though the mattresses felt a little old. The bathroom was tidy with four thick, luxurious bath towels and a couple of washcloths, but no bathmat, so we used a towel to dry our feet after showering. The water was hot and felt good after a long day on the road. There was a small table lamp, microwave, little fridge, wall-mounted TV, and a cafe table with two chairs. The AC was already blasting, which felt delicious after a long drive. There’s a free continental breakfast in the room behind the front office: danishes, granola bars, instant oatmeal, bagels, coffee, and orange juice. We forgot to ask whether there’s an ice machine. I think this place is a diamond in the rough, and a little vision, effort, and money could make it really cute. A small bedside table with a lamp would be nice for late-night reading, and they could weed-whack the parking lot and clear weeds from the property. If you found this review helpful, I’d love a 👍
