Dunbar House Inn and Event Property

The made-to-order breakfast was such a lovely touch, especially the French toast, which you really shouldn’t miss. The owner and staff were kind and helped make our mother-daughter trip feel special. Murphys is a charming setting for this peaceful, cozy inn. From the moment we arrived, it felt warm and homey, with a sense of quiet and stillness. There are six rooms, each with its own design and character. I’d happily recommend this hidden gem to anyone visiting Murphys.

The Poplar suite’s living room was comfortable, and the kitchen was stocked really well. The bed and pillows were great, too, and we found the breakfast delicious. We stayed two nights and had a very comfortable visit overall. It’s right in town, so everything was within walking distance. A couple of things to know: the stairs are quite steep, the kitchen water pressure was very slow, and the hot water gets boiling hot. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you, Dunbar House.

We’ve stayed at Dunbar House twice now and are already making plans for a third visit. This time we had the Blue Oak room, which was really cute, and we walked to Main Street every day for shopping and dinner. Breakfast was delicious, with eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, and waffles. Definitely worth a try.

The breakfast at Dunbar House was a great way to finish our visit. It’s cooked to order, and the breakfast staff were exceptional. I planned a surprise weekend getaway to Murphy’s for my wife after looking around online, and I’m very happy I picked this place. The grounds are well maintained, and our room was spacious and comfortable. The location made it easy to walk around the whole town. We’ll be back, and this will be our go-to spot.
