Holiday Inn Express & Suites Murrieta by IHG

The beds squeak whenever you get in or out, and the noise from nearby rooms and the hall is ridiculous. The person above us banged, stomped, and scraped against the walls all day and night. I noticed a stain on my bedding later, maybe blood, that looked washed but hadn't come out. Hopefully it had been washed. The staff were friendly and helpful, and things were mostly clean. There's also a school nearby, and some kind of loudspeaker announcement went on for a while earlier in the day. I didn't mind it, but it's something to consider.

Thanks to the Holiday Inn staff for a great family stay, including for our bulldog, macho. The night clerk paid close attention to our concerns for the two nights, and the young man working in the day was upbeat and friendly. Our fourth floor housekeeper was great too. Karma at breakfast was so sweet, and the food was amazing. Everyone, from check-in at night through the morning staff, was great!

We were visiting family and had few hotel options nearby, so we stayed here. The noise was a problem: at 4 a.m. we could hear the freeway loudly, and after switching rooms we heard the nearby high school at night. People and kids running or talking in the rooms above were easy to hear too. During the room change, my baby's first bath towel went missing. It was an organic brown cotton towel with sentimental value. I clearly remember hanging it to dry after the bath and checked my luggage thoroughly. Housekeeping said they hadn't found it, and the hotel offered no real help or compensation, only suggesting a police report. I believe it was stolen. The lack of accountability and care was frustrating. It's the principle, not the cost, and the stay fell below expectations. It's a shame that employees would feel it's okay to steal from customers they think may have more than them.

The hotel is very nice, with everything looking and feeling new. Heidi at the front desk was welcoming and accommodating, and even greeted us as we headed out to dinner. One of the nicest HI Expresses we've stayed in. A heads up: Google Maps sends you to the high school up the hill, so enter the hotel's address instead.
